Life Hack: Quick Asian lunch top tip

In busy periods of time, I like to keep an assortment of frozen salapao and dim sum in the freezer. At lunch time, just pop a pot with water on the stove, make the water boil and put a steamer with these Asian treats on top. In about 10 minutes you’ve got a lovely meal if you add some lettuce and some sauce (I like Heinz’s Chili Sauce). The practical thing is that it is almost impossible to over-steam them … so it doesn’t matter if you are a bit late, taking them off. I prefer the salty varieties, but the sweet one’s make for a delicious desert. Available at any supermarket in Thailand or at Asian supermarkets, in the West.


Healthy fast food

In the West, we primarily know the fried version of the spring roll. The fresh uncooked version is at least as popular in Asia, which is a wrapped version of a salad, really. We need readily available healthy fast food like this in Europe.



Food hack: Quick and delicious wok meal

After my local Chinese take-away restaurant went out of business, I was faced with a practical problem. Over the last 5 years, I had gotten used to having healthy personalized dishes 15 minutes and 5 steps away. My options were limited: either give up on my fitness diet (plenty of protein and veggies, low on fat) and resort to other take-away, or start cooking those meals myself. I grabbed the wok with both hands and came up with this delicious, cheap, cheerful, healthy and very quick solution, with minimal washing-up to be done afterwards.
